CP250
Liquid Applied Waterproof Membrane

CP250 is a single part, rapid curing, modified polyurethane waterproofing membrane that can be applied directly to green or damp concrete surfaces. Available in self levelling and trowelable grades.

CP250 is typically used on podium decks, green roofs, plazas, parking decks, inverted and protected membrane roofs. The system is also used for waterproofing foundation walls, landscaped areas, planter boxes, tunnels, etc. Suitable for use on concrete, wood, metal and masonry surfaces.

  • Single component, cold-applied fully bonded membrane
  • Can be applied directly to damp or green concrete without the need for priming in most cases
  • Highly elastomeric - excellent crack bridging performance
  • Rapid curing - can be overlaid in as little as 4 hours
  • Self levelling and trowelable grades available - suitable for horizontal or vertical application

Surface Preparation & Detailing

  • Surface to be waterproofed must be clean and free from standing water. Concrete slabs should have a light steel trowel followed by a fine hair broom or equivalent finish and should be water cured.
  • Allow a minimum of 24 hours for concrete surface to dry after stopping water cure on decks or removing forms on walls. If release agents are present, they must be removed before the application of CP250.
  • Following good drainage practice, the structural slab should be sloped in accordance with relevant building standards. All shrinkage cracks shall be treated with a 1.5 mm coating of CP250, 15 cm wide centred over the crack.
Moving structural cracks greater than 1.6 mm can be routed out and caulked with CP250 Trowel Grade, stripped with bond breaker tape and coated with 1.5 mm of membrane, or treated with CP600 Reinforcement Band embedded in membrane, centered over the crack. Consult Customer Services for further details.
  • At all horizontal-vertical junctures and all projections, a 25 mm bead of CP250 Trowel Grade shall be installed. Integral flashing shall be installed to the height indicated on the drawings. At expansion joints and other areas of potential high movement, CP600 Reinforcement Band embedded into the membrane may be required. Consult Customer Services for specific design details. All detailing must be cured prior to the application of the membrane. Detailing should be wiped clean with AW421 Heavy Duty Cleaner prior to the application of the membrane.

Application Instructions
Horizontal Installation

  • CP250 can be applied in a single pass up to 3.0 mm in a horizontal application at a coverage rate of 3.0 litres per m².
  • Due to the fact that CP250 is a rapidly curing membrane, the protection course can be applied after only 4 hours of cure (at 23°C), 50% relative humidity of the final installed membrane layer. Install approved TREMCO CP protection and/or drainage mat over the full area of the membrane immediately after curing.
  • In cases where additional protection is required, a double layer system may be recommended with a layer of CP580 Fabric Reinforcement laminated into the first coat and encapsulated by the second coat.

Vertical Installation

  • Apply in a single coat of CP250 at a rate of 3.0 mm with a coverage rate of 3.0 litres per m². Due to the fact that CP250 is a rapidly curing membrane, the protection course can be applied after only 4 hours of cure (at 23°C), 50% relative humidity of the final installed membrane layer.
