A number of TREMCO products have been used on a three year programme of works at a school in North London.
Middlesex Flooring were selected atthe specialist installer to carry out the works at the South Camden Community College which has been renamed Regent High School after undergoing a £25million transformation. BAM Construction refurbished the old Victorian building onthe site, as well as constructing extensive new teaching and administrative facilities with the design work being led by Walters & Cohen.
Middlesex Flooring have a long relationshipwith tremco illbruck and felt confident in using TREMCO products due to their performance and also the technical advice and support that they receive. The floor installation was part of a fast track programme, where Middlesex Flooring has to work closely with the main contractor to avoid disruption to other trades. To assist with the quick turn around time, tremco illbruck’s local area sales manager would visit site to help put the spec together.
Amongst the 10,000 square metres ofdifferent floor coverings installed over the three years were vinyl, carpet tiles, linoleum and rubber sheet and tile flooring. These were installed over ES100 Single Coat DPM and CS100 Epoxy Primer priorto the application of TREMCO smoothing compounds. ES100 provides a guaranteed surface damp proof membrane where moisture readings are above 75% and is supplied as a two-part treatment that is straight forward to mix and easy to apply. SF108 Pressure Sensitive Adhesive is EC1 compliant, has an exceptional coveragerate of up to 110 m² per 15 litre unit and was used to bond a number of the floorcoverings.

- ES600 & SX500
TREMCO’s ES600 and SX500 have recently been used on the refurbishment of a private house. The fast track system was used by Ayrshire Flooring as they could DPM, screed and apply the floor covering all in one day.
When selecting a system, speed of installation was of paramount importance. ES600 is a water based moisture vapour suppressant that can be used where moisture readings are up to 95% RH. With a typical drying time of just 60 minutes and no need to prime when used with TREMCOsmoothing compounds, it can assist with a rapid installation.
Ayrshire Flooring used ES600 with SX500, a rapid drying smoothing compound. The smoothing compound has a walk on time of 30 minutes and a lay on time of just 90 minutes. When used in combination with ES600, floor coverings can be applied after approximately 3 hours.
The floor (including floor covering) was laid in a 6 hour time slot and the area was returned to use so as not to cause inconvenience to the home owner.

A number of TREMCO products have been used on the brand new Fire & Rescue Centre in Wrexham, Wales.
The work has been carried out by Mike Thelwell Flooring, a long standing user of TREMCO products. In conjunction with local TREMCO Area Sales Manager, Mike Purcell,a robust system was suggested which would cope with the regular traffic expected for a Fire and Rescue Centre.
Mike Thellwell Flooring are familiar with most of TREMCO’s range of flooring products and felt comfortable using them in this situation based on their trusted performance and the comprehensive technical service support that is provided with all TREMCO products.
To ensure that TREMCO provided the correct specification, a pre site inspection was carried out and moisture readings were taken to ensure that the most suitable system was recommend for this particular application. With moisture readings above the BS8203, 2001 dry level of 75% RH, it was recommended that ES100 Single Coat DPM was used as this would allow the early installation of resilient floor finishes.
A two part epoxy DPM, ES100 accommodates moisture readings of up to 97%, is solvent free and only requires one coat which can assist with saving time and money on site. It was used in conjunction with CS100 Epoxy Primer and SX301 Latex Underlayment; which can accept foot traffic in as little as 90 minutes and provides a smooth finish prior to the application of a floor covering.
The TREMCO system that was used on the Fire & Rescue Centre in Wrexham was recommended based on TREMCO’s thorough understanding of the flooring market and the excellent relationship that exists with the flooring contractor, which has been built on outstanding technical support and proven product performance
